CINCINNATI - The official countdown to the 2012 World Choir Games took place Monday, July 11 at downtown’s Fountain Square. Cincinnati native singer Drew Lachey was the emcee for the event.
Lachey will take the stage at noon, welcoming local and national music performers including Gospel singer Byron Cage accompanied by the Cincinnati Citywide Mass Choir, The Eleventh Hour Choir from Kettering, Ohio and singer-songwriter Kelly King.
The economic impact from the games is expected to be $73.5 million. The previous World Choir Games were held in China. The Olympics of choral music will bring 20,000 participants and tens of thousands of visitors from more than 70 countries to Cincinnati from July 4-14, 2012.
