CINCINNATI - Containers of compressed gas complicated the job of Cincinnati firefighters Sunday evening as they attempted to battle a small fire inside a warehouse in Queensgate.

The Cincinnati Emergency Communications Center received a call from a passerby around 5:09 p.m. that indicated black smoke was coming from a warehouse-type structure located at 1049 Dalton Avenue. Initial arriving crews reported smoke appeared to be escaping from the roof of the structure.

Firefighters reported finding multiple containers of compressed gas throughout the building, including a tank of propane near the fire. After evacuating the building, firefighters activated the pressure relief valve on the tank and released the propane without further incident, according to a press release from the Cincinnati Fire Department.

The small fire was extinguished in a matter of minutes, according to the fire department.

No injuries were reported.

Damage to the property is estimated at $50,000.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
