CINCINNATI - It's a $10 million investment they say in improving services for children and their families. St. Aloysius Orphanage broke ground Thursday on what they plan on being an expanded version of their current campus in Bond Hill.
Orphanage leaders and city leaders broke ground on the project in a ceremony Thursday morning. When complete, it will include a new school to support the physical, emotional and intellectual strengths of children with mental and behavioral challenges and their families.
Cincinnati Mayor Mark Mallory, on hand for the groundbreaking said, "This is truly a celebration. The expansion of this facility to provide services for the young people in our community who need it. The support that is given to these young people for their physical and mental well development is really critical."
Saint Aloysius is part of Cincinnati history. It was founded in 1832 and the expansion will be their first in 175 years.
