CINCINNATI - Cincinnati State and Metro have come together to offer $1 bus rides for students for any route.

To participate, students must sign up on the school’s internal website. The card is free of charge but, students must get a new card every six months.

Tuesday's announcement means savings for students. Bus fares typically range from $1.75 to $4.25. Students who need to transfer must pay the $.50 transfer fare.

"Because of our enormous growth, we're especially interested in making it more attractive for our students to use public transportation to get to and from campus,'' said Cincinnati State President O'dell Owens.

The school said the move is an attempt to reduce traffic congestion and create more parking spots.
