LAWRENCEBURG, Ind. - A Dearborn County man was arrested on battery charges after authorities said he bit off most of another man's ear during an argument over who was the better gambler.

Donald Talbott was arrested on Sunday and charged with battery with serious bodily injury and disorderly conduct.

Deputies who were called Sunday to the Quality Inn in Greendale found Jacob Kerola screaming and bleeding with a large portion of his left ear missing.

A large piece of human flesh was found on the floor in a motel room, where a large crowd had gathered.

Investigators said Kerola told deputies that Talbott had bitten off part of his ear as they argued over which man was the better gambler.

Talbott was being held Wednesday at the Dearborn County Jail in Lawrenceburg .
