COLUMBUS, Ohio - Ohioans interested in seeing the governor's State of the State speech next week can try for a limited number of tickets through an online lottery.
People can register for the ticket lottery at http://governor.ohio.gov/tickets . Names will be collected until 6 p.m. Thursday, and winners will be notified by noon Friday.
Kasich plans to again deliver the annual policy address outside the Statehouse. He took last year's speech to an elementary school in Steubenville in eastern Ohio.
The Republican governor says the idea is to make the government more accessible to the people. Critics say he's breaking a historical tradition of having it in the Capitol and adding cost and inconvenience to the speech that's delivered to the Legislature.
