CINCINNATI - In the past 10 years the nation's economy has been hit with two recessions. Despite several initiatives to help train people in Cincinnati to be ready for work, there is still a lot of work left to do.

Here are some of your neighbors perspectives on what has changed or needs to change in the city.

"The jobs here are kind of scarce," said Ryan of Silverton. "We need a little more industrial."

"I think it could be better," Dawn of Williamsburg told 9 News downtown recently. "I think it's unfortunate that a lot of businesses have moved out of the Cincinnati area because of what happened so it would be great to have businesses come back."

"We've lost manufacturing jobs," Gary from Lebanon told 9 News cameras on Fountain Square. "I think the number is something like 25 percent of the manufacturing jobs in Cincinnati have gone away. They're looking at how to build a backbone of technology and make Cincinnati present in the next 10 or 20 years using the new technology."

"It's kind of weird to live here in this B rate that used to be the old New York or just over the river in Newport. That was the old Vegas but since it just hasn't grown accordingly and that's disappointing," said Michael from Over-the-Rhine.

"Businesses should come back downtown, especially a lot of people are moving downtown," said Tequana recently on Main Street. "A lot of lofts are being made. A lot of apartment buildings are being made as well so they should bring more restaurants and stores like it was 10 years ago."

"With the new Banks project being done, it should have been done a long time before now," said Jerome of downtown. "So now everything's going to be pushed to the Banks and all the retail and the business to the front and there's nothing for all the little restaurants and stuff to survive. We'll make it but we won't be able to survive."
