It was a vacation a Hawaiian family would like to forget but likely won't be able to.  A mother claims her toddler was served juice that contained alcohol while they were on a dinner cruise.

Bingyan Cai says over the Memorial Day weekend the family went aboard the Alli Kai Catamaran dinner cruise.  She ordered an orange juice and two pineapple drinks for him.  About halfway through the orange juice drink, Cai noticed her son's face getting flush and he was acting unruly.

"He just kept mumbling, Momma it's hot, it's hot," Cai said.  "He was just so wild, so full of energy.  He tried to run but he couldn't even stand straight."

Cai says she became suspicious of the drink and confirmed that vodka was in it.  She says she alerted the server who notified the manager.  Cai says she was disappointed in the response from the staff.  She was given a bottle of water, not offered any medical attention or formal apology.

"One of the servers just walked to me and said 'hey hush, hush and don't get too loud, cause we don't want other tourists to know and ruin the whole boat for the whole night.'  But you already ruined my night," she said.

Roberts Hawaii, which manages the Alii Kai dinner cruise, sent a written statement:

"We sincerely regret, and are mortified at the error.  We have had an alcohol safety procedure in place for 20 years and this is the first time we have had an incident like this."

The company says it has taken immediate actions to change the beverage containers to better differentiate between alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.  The company has also offered to refund the family their money and give them a future trip on the boat.
