LOS ANGELES - A publicist for Elton John confirms the singer and his partner, David Furnish, have welcomed a second son.

Elijah Joseph Daniel Furnish-John was born Friday in Los Angeles to a surrogate mother. He weighed in at 8 pounds, 4 ounces.

The couple, who wed in 2005, are already parents to Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John, who was born to a surrogate in December 2010.

The couple say they are "overwhelmed with happiness" at the birth of Elijah.
