The ex-wife of Ryan Freel gives some insight into the troubled life of the former utility player for the Cincinnati Reds who apparently committed suicide Dec. 22.
Christie Moore Freel was interviewed by The New York Times , for an article published Sunday. In the piece, she discusses Freel’s multiple concussions suffered while playing baseball, along with his mood swings.
Freel, 36, spent six of his eight big-league seasons with the Reds. He finished his career in 2009 with a .268 average and 143 stolen bases.
