CINCINNATI - Cher is the latest addition to a growing list of people urging Macy’s Department Stores to dump one of its celebrity endorsers, businessman and TV host Donald Trump.

The famed pop singer has signed an online petition that seeks Trump’s removal, according to the AOL Music Blog . So far, the petition at SignOn.org has more than 561,000 signers.

Cher, however, is going one step further: She said she will boycott Macy’s until the chain cuts all ties with Trump.

"I'll NEVER GO TO MACY'S AGAIN !" Cher revealed in a recent Twitter message. "I didnt [sic] know they sold Donald Trump's Line! If they don't care that they sell products from a LOUDMOUTH RACIST CRETIN,WHO'D LIE LIKE 'HIS RUG' TO GET SOME CHEAP PRESS ! I CANT BELIEVE MACY'S THINKS HE'S THE RIGHT 'MAN' 2 [sic] REPRESENT THEIR NAME !"

Macy’s is owned by Cincinnati-based Federated Department Stores.

Macy’s had operating income of $2.4 billion in 2011. It employs 171,000 people.

Macy’s sells Trump’s clothing line and fragrance at its stores, and features him in TV commercials. Macy's CEO Terry Lundgren sent Trump a letter recently touting how excited the company was to be working with Trump, and promising to expand his brand even further.

Among their complaints, the petitioners allege Trump has a long history of engaging in sexist behavior;  and hypocritically complains about jobs being shipped overseas to China, “despite the fact that almost his entire clothing line sold at Macy's is made in China and other Asian nations.”

They also criticize Trump for denying that global climate change exists, and for promoting the “birther” conspiracy theory about President Obama, which they say is racist.

The petition reads: “Macy's: Donald Trump does not reflect the ‘magic of Macy's.’ We urge you to sever ties with him. Macy's says it has a strong obligation to be ‘socially responsible’ and that ‘actions speak louder than words.’ Indeed. It's time to act.”
