Everyone experiences stress at work to some degree, but a new study suggests that's more often the case in certain professions.
The website SmartPlanet.com outlines CareerCast's annual list of the most stressful jobs .
The company developed a ranking system based on several different demands for a job including travel, working with the public, hazards, environmental conditions, and growth potential.
So if looking for a new job is one of your New Year's resolutions, you may want to consider the top 10 most stressful jobs to have in 2012.
Below is a list of the 10 most stressful jobs:

5. Police officer
6. Event coordinator

The top 10 least stressful jobs based on the same factors include:
1. Medical records technician

3. Hairstylist
4. Tailor
5. Medical laboratory technician
6. Audiologist
7. Precision assembler
8. Dietitian
9 Furniture upholster
10. Electrician
