Most of us want to spend time with friends and family throughout the holidays. That's why AAA says the number of travelers this Thanksgiving is going up.
The new AAA research says more than 42 million people will be traveling in the air and on the roads for Thanksgiving. That's up 4 percent from last year.
More than 3 million people will be flying, the other 38 to 39 million people will be driving.
Thanks to the increase in drivers, starting Friday morning, police in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky will be stepping up patrols looking for speeders and drunk drivers.
