MADISON, Ind. - State police say a helicopter pilot injured when his aircraft crashed while crop dusting in southern Indiana is from Michigan.
State police say 35-year-old Kevin C. Rossan of Troy, Mich., was taken to King's Daughters Hospital in Madison with serious injuries. Messages left at the hospital seeking an update on Rossan's condition were not immediately returned Friday.
Jefferson County emergency management director Dave Bell tells WHAS-TV and WAVE-TV the helicopter crashed about 7:45 a.m. Friday near State Road 3 and Highway 256 about 35 miles north of Louisville, Ky.
The aircraft crashed when winds tipped its blades into the ground as Rossan was crop dusting a beanfield.
Rossan was the only person on the aircraft, which was owneowned by a Pennsylvania company.
Federal aviation officials will investigate the crash.
