Rescue workers had to take their time with this delicate problem in southwest China.
A young boy slipped his head through this guardrail, but he couldn't slip it back out.
The poor kid was stuck in a crouching position.
Crews eventually brought in the jaws of life: hydraulic dilating forecep. and expanded the hole.
The first responders had to be careful not to let any piece of debris hit the child when they tore into the railing.
Medical personnel examined the boy, not finding any major injuries.
The boy then rejoined his grandmother.
