CINCINNATI - BRIDGES invites the entire Greater Cincinnati area to participate in Saturday’s 14th annual Walk for a Just Community and Freedom Run.

All proceeds from the event benefit the development and expansion of BRIDGES’ community leadership programs, including Public Allies Cincinnati, “JUST Community” Youth Leadership Institute, Village Schools, and the annual Police/Youth “Live-In” program.

The BRIDGES Walk for a Just Community helps bring together communities from across the Tri-State in an effort to “equip people with the awareness, the skills, and the opportunity to develop relationships that will engage and transform our environment into a fair and just community,” president and CEO of BRIDGES, Lynnette M. Heard said.

The walk/run is a certified 5K (3.1 miles) that will start and finish at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center.

Registration for the event and a special breakfast will be held at 9 a.m. The 5K Freedom Run is scheduled to begin at 9:50 a.m., with the BRIDGES Walk starting at 10 a.m.

Following the walk/run, participants can celebrate with a multicultural festival, including lunch, entertainment, and a kid's zone with family-friendly activities until 1 p.m.

The registration fee for the Freedom Run is $25. There is no registration fee required for walkers, but each walker is asked to secure pledges.

More information on registering for the walk can be found at www.bridgescincinnati.org or by calling BRIDGES at (513) 381-4660.
