CINCINNATI - A speeding vehicle crashed into a Pleasant Ridge house's porch causing damage to the residence and injuring one person early Friday morning.

Chad Young, 33, was driving his 2001 Lincoln east on Losantiville Avenue when he lost control of his vehicle and drove off the left side of the roadway and struck a hom in the 3000 block of Losantiville Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. The vehicle drove up onto a house’s yard, went airborne and crashed into the porch.

Young, who was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was trapped inside his vehicle and had to be removed by Cincinnati fire crews. Young sustained serious injuries in the accident and emergency crews transported him to University Hospital where he is in stable condition.

Young crashed his vehicle into the house of Thomas and Gertrude Smith, 78 and 76 respectively. The coupld was asleep when the vehicle crashed into their house and the impact caused the headboard of the bed to fall on the couple. They sustained minor injuries as a result, according to officials.

Authorities said they believe speed and alcohol played a factor in the crash.

Officials have not released any additional details about the crash at this time.
