CINCINNATI - The Urology Group will host the 2012 Great Prostate Cancer Challenge in Cincinnati, a 5K walk/run on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at 9 a.m.

This year will celebrate the opening of the Urology Group headquarters advanced surgery facility on the same day. The race will begin at the new The Urology Group building, located in Norwood.

Thanks to the participation of more than 40 national and local sponsors, 600 participants, countless volunteers and media coverage, the 2011 Great Prostate Cancer Challenge raised more than $88,000 for prostate cancer research, free screenings and increased awareness to the importance of early detection.

The Great Prostate Cancer Challenge is an opportunity for the physicians at The Urology Group to advance their mission of fighting prostate cancer. More than 218,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year – one new case every two and a half minutes – and more than 32,000 will die from this disease, according to the urology Group.
