CINCINNATI - The owners of the Beach Waterpark in Mason have found a new operator.
A Jacksonville, Fla. based company has signed a short-term lease on the property with the option to buy.
Adventure Landing, which operates a number of family-oriented businesses including water parks and miniature golf courses, plans to re-open the beach in time for the 2013 season.
“As a past employee and new General Manager of The Beach, I am excited to welcome Adventure Holdings LLC to the Greater Cincinnati area,” said Ralph Vilardo Jr. “The Beach has provided the community with years of entertainment and memories and I am proud to see its legacy continue.”
Adventure Landing operates 17 family entertainment businesses in Fla., New York, North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. The company also operates the Magic Mountain Fun Center in Columbus.
“Today is a major milestone in the Adventure Holdings LLC story,” said Woodburn. “I look forward to welcoming back the dedicated supporters of The Beach in 2013 and hope they enjoy the upgrades and enhancements we plan to make to the park.”
Part of the agreement includes honoring the 2012 season pass holders during the 2013 season. The Beach announced in March that it was closing its doors after several years of losses.
The Ohio Attorney General filed a suit against The Beach on behalf of thousands of season pass holders who had paid in advance for park privileges for the 2012 season.
In the meantime, pass holders can visit www.adventurelanding.com for ongoing announcements and updates.
