CINCINNATI - A major portion of construction has wrapped at The Banks Project.
Construction workers spent much of late Thursday night and early Friday morning pouring concrete on a new street.
Freedom Way is being extended to connect Paul Brown Stadium and Great American Ball Park.
About 1,100 cubic yards of concrete was poured to create the structural deck for the new downtown street.
Freedom Way West will serve as a foundation for private developments such as apartments, restaurants and retail space.
It is the latest addition to The Banks development, which is seeing more activity as completed projects start to take shape in the area such as the Holy Grail Tavern & Grill and the residential space called The Current at The Banks.
Project Executive John Deatrick says the construction process of The Banks is on schedule and that Freedom Way West is a major step in that process connecting the Reds with the Bengals.
The concrete for Freedom Way West will take about 28 days to set. The street will open to the public in September.
