Jospeh Tucker Jr. indicted for murder of security guard at the Netherland Plaza Hotel

CINCINNATI - Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters announced the indictment of the suspect accused of killing a security guard at the Hilton Netherland Plaza Hotel earlier this month.

Joseph Tucker Jr. was charged with two counts of aggravated murder, two counts of murder and one count of aggravated robbery on Friday.

According to a police investigation, Richard Campbell, a security guard who had worked at the Netherland Plaza Hotel for eight years, was found stabbed to death in a stairwell at his place of work.

The Hamilton County Coroner ruled that Campbell died as the result of 6-8 stab wounds with a sharp-edged weapon, but no weapon was recovered.

Surveillance video led police to the arrest of Tucker on Dec. 14., which showed Tucker inside the hotel at the time of the murder.

“We owe thanks to Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Sammarco and her office for their speedy work on this case in order to help the police make this arrest and get this indictment today,” said Deters.

Tucker faces the possibility of life in prison without parole if convicted of all charges.
