Runners get ready for Jingle Bell Run/Walk in N.Ky.

COVINGTON, Ky. - Runners around the Tri-State are strapping on their tennis shoes for a good cause this holiday season for the Arthritis Foundation’s Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis .

The 5K or walk run happens around the country with the local race kicking off Dec. 8 at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center located at 1 West RiverCenter Blvd. in Covington, Ky.

The run and walk raises money for the Arthritis Foundation and their dedication to advancing arthritis research. Education and government advocacy programs will also benefit from the funds.

The annual event helps kick off the holiday season in the Tri-State. Runners and walkers are invited tie bells to their shoes or get in the holiday spirit with costumes and more.

This year, 9 News Meteorologist Larry Handley will emcee the event and may participate as well!
