CINCINNATI - Madeira police arrested and charged a local man for allegedly beating his ex-girlfriend and holding her captive.

Paul Lam of Madeira was charged with domestic violence charges Monday night.

According to police, he allegedly put duct tape over her mouth and eyes. Police say he told her he would die in the house after he killed her.

Police say he eventually relented and allegedly kicked her out of his car at Jewish Hospital's emergency room.

She required 48 staples in her head.
