CINCINNATI - Cincinnati police are investigating a fatal officer-involved shooting in Avondale after one suspect was killed and another was injured Wednesday evening. Police were still searching for a second suspect on Thursday.

Police say the shootings happened at the intersection of Reading Road and Burton Avenue around 5:30 pm.

According to police on the scene, officers were conducting an undercover drug bust when they believe the suspects caught on to the situation. The suspects and the officer began to exchange gun fire.

Two suspects were shot, although it is not clear who shot them at this time.

Both suspects, who police have not identified, were transported to University Hospital. One suspect died and the other is recovering from non life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

Police say a third suspect fled the scene and remains at large.

The police officer was not injured.

Authorities have not released any other details on the shootings.

The incident remains under investigation by police.
