CINCINNATI - Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Walnut Hills after a man died from gunshot wounds Monday night.

The shooting happened in the 800 block of Buena Vista Place around 6:30 p.m.

Komehn Kollie, 57, was shot as an innocent bystander by an unidentified assailant while he was on his way to the N&I Market.

Kollie was transported to University Hospital and later died from injuries.

Kollie had a wife of 27 years, four kids between the ages of 16 and 23 and a 4-year-old granddaughter. He came to America from Liberia 32 years ago to escape civil unrest, according to his wife.

An employee at the N&I Market said he was a nice guy, a family man and he came in to the store often to buy lottery tickets.

The shooting remains under investigation and police have not released any information on suspects involved in the incident.
