GOSHEN, Ohio - A Goshen Township man was charged for shaking and injuring his 6-month-old child, according to police.
Authorities say Philip Cash, 21, was indicted Wednesday with two counts of felonious assault and four counts of child endangering.
On Nov. 7, police responded to the 1400 block of Obannonville Road for reports of a child not breathing. The child was transported to University Hospital and is suffering from a severe head injury with bleeding on the brain.
Upon investigation, police determined the child had been shaken by his father early in the morning of Nov. 7. Police also learned Cash reportedly dropped the child in October, which fractured the baby's arm. The incident was never reported to police and the child did not receive medical attention for that injury.
The child's mother, Ashley Johnson, 21, of Goshen was also indicted and charged with child endangerment.
Cash will be arraigned in court at 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
