CINCINNATI - One of six teens accused of severely beating a man because they were "bored" has a court date on Monday. An attorney for the teen is expected to ask for a lower bond.
In August, North College Hill police charged the teens after they say the group attacked 45-year-old Pat Mahaney while he was walking home from the store. Mahaney was hospitalized for four days with internal injuries and bleeding, cuts and bruises.
The teens were indicted under the serious youth offenders statute, which means that while the teens are not being tried as adults and court proceedings will continue in Hamilton County Juvenile Court, the teens could face either a juvenile sentence or an adult sentence if convicted.
