CINCINNATI - The unusual winter with milder temperatures is allowing work to continue on construction projects throughout the Tri-State.

Ohio Department of Transportation has taken advantage of the weather by continuing to work on two projects including a bridge repair in Miamitown near I-74 and Ohio 128.

"We have been able to work on a few projects this winter as weather permits," said ODOT spokesperson Sharon Smigielski.

The director of Cincinnati's Engineering and Transportation Department says they have also worked on several projects through the winter.

Director Michael Moore says they would have scheduled additional projects if they could have predicted the milder temperatures.

Moore says many of the asphalt companies close down for the winter, so getting access to the needed road material is nearly impossible unless it is an emergency.

Moore also says the frequent rain we've seen can delay a project because it makes the roads too wet for crews to work.
