CINCINNATI - The Tri-State will be getting a new medical center soon as construction crews and project leaders broke ground Tuesday.

Mercy Health is building a new 24/7 emergency department in the Rookwood area. The facility will be located on the corner of Edwards Road and Williams Avenue near the on-ramp to northbound Interstate 71.

The emergency department will also house physician offices.

The 24,000 square foot facility is scheduled to open in the second half of next year.
