CINCINNATI - Tuesday night police officers and firefighters across the Tri-State are reaching out to connect with the community through National Night Out events.

The National Night Out began in 1984 to help promote anti-crime efforts, but now it has expanded to help bring together communities and help residents get to know their local police officers and neighbors.

Here's a look at some of the local National Night Out events in Cincinnati & Northern Kentucky:

  • College Hill National Night Out: College Hill Presbyterian Church, 5742 Hamilton Ave., from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. The band Most Wanted will provide entertainment and there will be police and fire units on display. There will be free food, entertainment and activities for kids such as games and face painting.
  • Newport National Night Out: Newport Target Parking Lot. 6 p.m.-9 p.m. Free Shuttle from the Newport Middle School. Food and games for kids. Dunking booth, rock wall, face painting, free school supplies. Demonstrations by police and fire personnel
  • Goshen National Night Out: Marr-Cook Elementary School located at 6696 Goshen Rd, Goshen, Ohio 45122. 5 p.m. – 10 p.m.
  • Lebanon Police Department:The National Night Out event will be held in front of the Lebanon Police Department, 25 West Silver Street, from 7 p.m. to 9 pm. The roadway on Silver Street from Broadway to Sycamore streets will be blocked off for static displays from the Elks Club, Lebanon Fire Department, and the police department. There will be entertainment, a bounce house for children, hot dogs, chips, and drinks for all.
  • Cincinnati Police:
    1. DISTRICT ONE

                       Findlay Market, 1801 Race Street, from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.

                       Mt. Adams Monastery, 1100 St. Paul Street, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

                  2.   DISTRICT TWO

                       Owl's Nest Park, 1984 Madison Road, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

                  3. DISTRICT THREE

                      Kroger Parking Lot, 2310 Ferguson Road, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. 

                  4.  DISTRICT FOUR

                      Gabriel's Place, 3618 Reading Road, from 6 p.m. to 8: p.m. 

                  5. DISTRICT FIVE

                      College Hill Presbyterian Church parking lot, 5742 Hamilton Avenue, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
