CINCINNATI - Several Mt. Washington homes were evacuated after a gas main in the neighborhood was cut Tuesday morning.

A construction company working for the city of Cincinnati hit the gas main on Glade Avenue in Mt. Washington at about 10:30 a.m. Emergency crews and Duke Energy representatives responded to help repair the four-inch gas main. Six homes were evacuated because of the incident, according to authorities.

After Duke Energy contained the leak, firefighters tested the levels around the area and found them to be safe. Residents were then allowed to return home.

No injuries were reported.
