WILMINGTON, Ohio - A motorcyclist is dead following a crash on I-71 near Wilmington early Thursday morning.
Ohio State Police say 53-year-old John Moss died in a crash on southbound I-71 at about 4 a.m. Moss, who was driving his 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle, struck the back of a van driven by 21-year-old Michael McCleery. The van then collided with a tractor-trailer driven by 50-year-old Raymond Bochicchio.
Emergency crews transported Moss to Miami Valley Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
McCleery and his passenger, 26-year-old Austin Dozier, were transported to Clinton Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Bochicchio did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
The vehicles were all stopped in traffic because of an earlier crash in the area.
I-71 near Wilmington was closed for a brief period of time early Thursday while crews cleared the scene.
Officials have not released any additional details about the crash at this time. Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
