AURORA, Ind. - The mother of a 5-month-old baby who drowned in a backyard kiddie pool last summer was indicted by a Dearborn County grand jury on Friday.
Erin O'Brien, 28, of Aurora, faces two charges including neglect of a dependent resulting in death and reckless homicide.
Kolsyn O'Brien drowned after his mother says she turned her back just for a second, to grab a garden hose at the home in the 100 block of Hoppy Hollow on Monday, July 11, 2011.
Emergency crews responded to the home and transported the baby to Dearborn County Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Police say Kolsyn was in a bumbo seat in the pool when he fell forward and drowned.
O'Brien has not been arrested.
