CINCINNATI - Officials found two children Monday evening after they went missing about eight days ago and their mother refused to reveal their location.
Police found missing 2-year-old Gabriellemarie Gebrselassie and 10-month-old Gisaiah Golder-Mumphrey safe Monday night, according Brian Gregg with the Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services. The children’s mother, 19-year-old Gwendolynn Golder is being held in contempt for not telling Hamilton County Jobs and Family Services where the children were.
Police arrested Golder, a North Fairmount resident, on Sunday.
A family friend turned them over to one of the children’s fathers after they were last seen June 3, Gregg said. The family friend most likely did not know about Golder’s refusal to work with authorities, he added.
On Sunday, a caseworker showed up to Golder's Bleeker Avenue home and saw the girls through a window, but their mother refused to open the door.
It's not clear why protective services were taking custody of Golder's children.
The two children are in foster care as of Tuesday morning.
Golder is scheduled to appear in juvenile court on Friday.
Officials have not released any additional details at this time.
