CINCINNATI - A trail blazer and former member of the 9 On Your Side family has died.

Maxine Hardwick was the first African-American woman to do the weather at WCPO in the 1970s and 80s.

Hardwick also appeared on the weekly talk show "Black Memo."

Former WCPO anchor Jenell Walton, who now reports for "The List," said she remembered watching Hardwick on TV as a little girl. Walton said it was a big deal back then, to see a face like hers on TV.
