MONROE TWP., Ohio - A Clermont County stabbing victim, who was flown by medical helicopter to the hospital Tuesday, has been identified.

Clermont County Sheriff's deputies identified Nathan Hayes, 27, of Monroe Township, as the victim of a stabbing, which occurred at approximately 8:15 p.m. at 2143 Berry Road. A witness at the scene told authorities Hayes had been allegedly stabbed by the suspect, identified as Samuel Kennell, 23, who fled the scene on foot.

Hayes was flown to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is listed in stable condition, according to police.

Deputies tracked Kennell with a K-9 unit and located him approximately 2 miles from the scene. He was arrested for one count of second-degree felonious assault and taken into custody without incident.

Kennell is scheduled to appear at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Clemont County Municipal Court for a bond hearing.
