COVINGTON, Ky. (AP) -- A northern Kentucky man accused of shooting at four police officers last month has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Pharo Wilson, 26, of Covington appeared in Kenton County Circuit Court on Monday. He was indicted Thursday on charges of attempted murder, first-degree assault, third-degree assault, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and being a persistent felony offender.

Wilson was arrested Sept. 28 in Cincinnati after an 11-hour manhunt.

Covington police were called to a robbery scene early that day and say Wilson began firing when four officers approached an apartment building.

K-9 officer Specialist Mark Richardson was shot in the foot during the exchange and was taken to University Hospital. He was expected to fully recover.
