Man killed in early morning accident in Dearborn County

DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. - A man died as the result of an early morning accident in Dearborn County.

Sheriff's deputies are investigating a single-vehicle accident that occurred just before 4 a.m. on U.S. Route 50 near the Ripley County line.

According to sheriff's office, a vehicle driven by Andrew Gress, 23, of Dillsboro, Ind. was traveling eastbound on U.S. 50 when it went into a grassy median and struck a concrete culvert.

Gress was pronounced dead at the scene.

There were no passengers inside the vehicle at the time of the accident.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the Dearborn County Sheriff's Office.
