CINCINNATI - Police identified a man who fell off of the 16th floor of the Garfield Suites Hotel downtown.
Alexander Crouch, 24, of Fortville, Ind., fell off a balcony onto Vine Street early Sunday. Cincinnati police said they believe Crouch was with a bachelor party.
A security guard working at a nearby parking garage during the time of the incident said he ran over to the front of the hotel when he saw police. He said they shut Vine Street down. The security guard said it appeared the victim's friends were standing in the lobby. One of them, a possible girlfriend, was crouched down on the floor hysterically crying.
The security guard said this is the first time he's seen something like this happen at the hotel in the three years he's worked at the nearby parking garage.
Mick Douthat with the Garfield Suites Hotel released a statement about the incident.
"Our hotel staff was notified that a person had fallen from the building early Sunday morning," Douthat wrote. "Pending notification of relatives, hotel management has not been granted any further information regarding the incident. The hotel's staff is extremely saddened over this news. Our thoughts and prayers are with those families involved."
