CINCINNATI - Kroger released a statement Friday that explained their data base, which contains customers' names and email addresses, was hacked by someone outside of their company.

Only those costumers who voluntarily gave their names and email addresses will be affected.

Kroger assures no other information was released. The company also wants to remind customers that personal information like credit card or social security numbers is never required. If this information is requested, disregard the message.

For any questions or concerns, call Kroger's customer service center at 1-8---Krogers or 1-800-576-4377.
