Turkey Foot Middle School saves energy this school year.

FORT WRIGHT, Ky. - Kenton County Schools is receiving a special honor for its efforts to become eco-friendly. The Environmental Protection Agency is naming the district as its 2013 Energy Star Partner of the Year.
The newly built Turkey Foot Middle School is just one example of how the district is using more renewable energy sources. The building has 60-square feet of solar panels and a geo-thermal heating system.
EPA officials commend Kenton County schools for improving its energy performance, saving money and protecting the environment for future generations.
