CINCINNATI - The total project is worth $400 million in downtown Cincinnati and is estimated to generate nearly $100 million in annual tax revenue. However, Horseshoe Casino management views the project differently.

"Our goal was to create a casino that really engaged the city," said Steve Rosenthal, Principal, Rock Gaming LLC. "So that you would feel a relationship between the city, the urban core and the casino."

Traditionally visitors could only get to restaurants and bars by walking though the gaming area. Now, guests may not even have to walk into the casino.

"You can actually enter into some of the restaurants from the outside," said Rosenthal.

The site has had its delays from politicians at the state level to an accident in February where a deck form the parking garage collapsed. Now managers say the venue will open on schedule in 2013.

When that big day comes, an expected 90 percent of the 1,700 jobs will have been created from the Tri-State. Currently, 750 table games dealers and supervisors positions are open for application. ( Click here to apply ) The Vice President of Human Resources, Lisa Rexroat-Steele said that no experience is necessary.

"We hire for attitude and will train for aptitude," said Rexroat-Steele.

The casino will accept applications through Sunday, Sept. 16. This could be great news for the nearly 160 workers from Lawrenceburg's Hollywood Casino, who were laid off yesterday.

"We do encourage any of those employees that might have an interest in working for us to apply," said Rexroat-Steele. "It might be a nice way for us to supplement on our team with experience."
