CINCINNATI - The Hamilton County prosecutor is currently investigating an unknown number of employees from Job and Family Services.

Our initial tip came from a former fraud investigator who was laid off when Job and Family Services completely eliminated one of Ohio's best welfare fraud units. We first broke that story in May.

The allegation from our source is that case workers put their own families on food stamps.

Job and Family Services referred our calls to the Hamilton County prosecutor, who confirms his office is investigating.

9 News was unable to accertain how many employees may be involved or how much money was allegedly taken since no one is talking and the investigation is still open. However, it is known that Job and Family Services employees haven't had a raise in years, and the agency recently saw its entire budget cut in half.
