House fire displaces mother, 2 children after roof collapses

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - A displaced mother and two children managed to escape a fully involved fire in Highland Heights, Ky. Monday morning.

A three-alarm fire prompted nearly 30 firefighters to respond at approximately 3:20 a.m. to the 200 block of Ridge Hill Drive, fire officials told 9 On Your Side.

The house was declared a total loss by fire officials at the scene as the roof collapsed and flames from the blaze were scene from a half-mile away, according to fire officials.

The cause remains under investigation and it is not known if the blaze is considered suspicious.
