CINCINNATI - It’s all about the numbers at Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati.

Whether you’re sizing up your odds, searching for a parking spot or seeking a job, the numbers may be in your favor at the casino, which opens its doors to the public Monday.

Below is a rundown of some of the numbers behind Horseshoe Casino:

1. Cost:

  • $400 million -- took two years to build
  • 2,000 construction workers
  • Contracts valued at $151 million awarded to Ohio-based firms
  • 37 percent of contracts awarded to certified minority and women-owned businesses

2. Overall size:

  • 400,000 square feet on 23 acre site.

3. Gaming floor size:

  • 100,000 square feet
  • Fire department capacity for gaming floor set at 10,830 visitors
  • Dress rehearsal drew 6,200 patrons -- 15,000 guests were invited
  • 2,000 slots and video poker machines ranging from a penny to $500 per spin
  • 87 table games for black jack, craps, roulette, Let It Ride and several poker derivatives
  • 31 table World Series of Poker room
  • Asian Gaming Room in high limits area -- paying tribute to Cincinnati Sister City of Liuzhou, China

4. Hours of operation:

  • 24 hours a day, seven days a week

5. Employees:

  • 1,700 total employees
  • 90 percent of whom were hired from Greater Cincinnati

6. Goals:

  • Six million visitors a year
  • $300 million in annual revenue
  • That's $304 every day for each slot or gaming spot

  • Designed as "urban casino" to blend into the fabric of downtown
  • 33,000 square foot meeting and events space on second level can accommodate 1,400 people
  • One acre urban plaza at front entrance for public events

  • Ohio voters approved gaming in 2009, authorizing four casinos in Ohio.
    • Rock Gaming developed casinos in Cleveland and Cincinnati
    • Penn National Gaming developed casinos in Columbus and Toledo (also owns Hollywood in Lawrenceburg).
