CINCINNATI - The Cincinnati Opera always does it up in grand style for its Summer Festival, but this year there's some hollywood glamour added to the mix.
The Opera announced "American Idol" Host Ryan Seacrest will host the Cincinnati Opera's 90th Anniversary Gala Concert scheduled for June 19 at Music Hall.
"Ryan Seacrest is one of the finest and best loved television hosts. We're thrilled that he'll be joining us to lead our anniversary celebration," said Cincinnati Opera's Artistic Director Evans Mirageas.
The Opera is celebrating its 90th birthday with three mainstage performances for the Summer Festival.
There are two performances of Die Meistersinger Von Nurnberg, a love story, which are scheduled for June 23 and June 26.
Othello performances are July 7 and July 10.
La Boheme will round out the Summer Festival with three performances on July 21, 23, and 25.
Mirageas says world-class singers, the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the powerful Cincinnati Opera Chorus will help bring the stories to life at Music Hall.
All three opera pieces are new to Cincinnati.
