CINCINNATI - Hamilton County Coroner Dr. Anant Bhati is showing signs of improvement after being listed in critical condition at Good Samaritan Hospital Thursday night.

Sources tell 9 News that Bhati collapsed and hit his head during a medical conference at the Westin Hotel in downtown Cincinnati Wednesday.

He was taken to Good Samaritan where doctors and family say they are optimistic for his full recovery.

Bhati has served as director of the Division of Gynecology at Good Samaritan Hospital since 1980. He has taught medical students for more than 40 years at Good Samaritan and UC College of Medicine.

No other information has been released at this time.
