Former county commissioner pleads not guilty to sex, drug charges

COVINGTON, Ky. - Former Clermont County Commissioner Archie Wilson pleaded not guilty to sex and drug charges against him during his arraignment hearing Tuesday morning.
Wilson appeared in a Kenton County courtroom to face charges of soliciting a prostitute and trafficking a controlled substance. The misdemeanor charges follow an undercover investigation that began when a female inmate at the Clermont County Jail came forward stating Wilson paid her and other prostitutes with cash and drugs.
His attorney, Bob Lotz, had previously asked the judge to delay Wilson's court appearance until Tuesday so Wilson could complete unspecified treatment.
After the court hearing, Lotz appeared aggravated by questions from the media. "Shame on you," said Lotz. "I'm saying you leave people alone when they don't want to talk to you."
Wilson's next court date will be March 15. If convicted on the charges, wilson faces up to 15 months in jail.
