CINCINNATI - USA Fencing, the national governing body for the sport of fencing in the United States North American Cup, March 16-19 at the Duke Energy Center in downtown Cincinnati.
More than 1000 competitors, will compete in 40 events. Individual competitions in all three fencing weapons - epee, foil and saber - occur throughout the weekend. Admission is free.
Division I Men's Foil, Division II Women's Epee and Wheelchair Men's Epee fencers start off the annual North American Cup tournament on Friday morning starting at 8:30am in Halls A and B at the Duke Energy Center.
"We are thrilled to host USA Fencing in Cincinnati for a second time in the past three years," said Mike Moeddel, chairman of the Greater Cincinnati Sports Corporation, "Not only will this event bring thousands of people to the city and positively impact the local economy, it also serves as the beginning of more Olympic sporting events in the Greater Cincinnati area."
