CINCINNATI - Fire crews responded to a one alarm fire in the 3000 block of  Durrell Avenue Saturday afternoon.

The fire began in the finished third floor attic of the home while Siara Croom and her two children were home. The family was unaware of the third floor fire until someone knocked on their door to tell them to get out of their house, Croom said.

"We probably would of fell asleep and never gotten out," she said.  "If it wasn't for the neighbor and everyone yelling get out, get out, we probably would've still been in there."

Fire crews have not determined the cause of the fire. A fire inspector was called in to investigate. No one was injured in the incident and the home was not an entire loss.

A district fire chief estimated about $25,000 in damages. The family said they will stay with friends until they are able to return home.
